Air Freight Solutions
Air cargo for shipments where time matters, supported by combined volumes across trade lanes.
Overview
Air Freight
Air freight suits cargo where time matters: urgent consignments, high-value goods and shipments tied to tight production or retail schedules.
We work with combined volumes across trade lanes. Pooling cargo this way helps us negotiate competitive pricing and secure space allocation for our customers’ shipments.
What we coordinate
- Export and import air cargo bookings
- Space allocation supported by combined volumes across trade lanes
- Coordination of shipping documents, with customs clearance assistance
- Pickup and delivery through our door-to-door and road freight services
Chargeable weight
Why dimensions matter in air freight
Light but bulky cargo takes up space an aircraft could fill with heavier goods, so airlines charge on whichever is greater: actual weight or volumetric weight.
- Cargo
- 10 cartons, 60 × 40 × 50 cm, 8 kg each
- Actual weight
- 80 kg
- Volume
- 1.2 CBM
- Volumetric
- 1.2 × 167 ≈ 200 kg
- Chargeable
- ≈ 200 kg (the greater of the two)

Key considerations
Chargeable weight
Airlines charge on the greater of actual gross weight and volumetric weight. A commonly used ratio is 1 CBM = 167 kg, though carriers may apply their own.
Packing and labelling
Cargo should be packed to withstand air handling and labelled clearly with shipper and consignee details.
Dangerous goods
Declare hazardous items, lithium batteries or chemicals when you enquire. They need specific documents and carrier acceptance.
Documents
A commercial invoice and packing list are the starting point. Some commodities also need permits or certificates.
